The new fiscal year has brought in some good news for the casino industry in Pennsylvania. The online casino market has wasted no time picking up where last year left off with an impressive July revenue.
Pennsylvania posts a strong July
July closed out as one of the strongest months Pennsylvania online gambling has ever recorded. It edged past June and landed well above where things stood this time last year. It’s not a record, and it doesn’t need to be. Steady growth like this, month after month, tends to matter more in the long run than any single standout number.
Operators that actually drove the numbers
The local-first casino, betPARX, maintained steady growth. Penn National kept its usual spot at the top of the pack, and Valley Forge wasn’t far behind, actually growing a bit faster year over year than the market leader. A couple of the smaller operators had a genuinely great month, too. Caesars and Bally’s both saw revenue climb sharply, even if their overall totals still trail the bigger names.
Not every operator had it easy, though. A couple of platforms had a rough July and one casino brand didn’t post any online revenue at all this time around, a sharp reversal from where it stood a year earlier. That kind of swing happens in this market. Some months just go better for certain operators than others.
Where all that tax money actually goes
A big chunk of July’s revenue went straight into Pennsylvania’s tax coffers, with more flowing out to county grants and local programs on top of that. It’s easy to think of online casino play as something that just happens on a phone screen, disconnected from anything real, but tax money ends up funding actual local projects across the state.
The bigger picture for 2026
Zoom out to the full year so far, and the pattern holds – Pennsylvania’s iGaming revenue is running well ahead of where it stood at this point last year, continuing a growth streak that’s held steady basically every month. The state already set a national record for iGaming revenue back in 2025, and this year’s pace suggests it’s on track to beat that mark by a healthy margin.
A platform shift nobody’s really talking about
Part of what’s fueling this growth is simpler than people assume. A lot of players still prefer gaming on PC over their phones, especially for slots and table games where a bigger screen actually makes the experience easier to follow – multi-hand blackjack, detailed slot animations, that kind of thing. It hasn’t slowed mobile growth down at all. If anything, having both options running strong at once is a big part of why the overall numbers keep climbing.
Pennsylvania into the global picture
None of this is happening in isolation, either. The iGaming global market has been on a steady upward run for years now, and the US keeps showing up as one of the faster-growing pieces of that picture as more states legalize online casino play. Pennsylvania just happens to be doing it better than most, consistently landing near the top of the pack every time the monthly numbers come out.
What does this mean going forward?
None of this looks like a fluke at this point. Pennsylvania’s online casino market has been on a genuine upward run for months now. If that pace holds through the rest of the year, the state isn’t just keeping up with last year’s record. It’s set up to leave it behind by a real margin.
